monarch caterpillars

Although the temperature is still quite warm for this time of year, the blowing wind brings the promise of cooler weather. These little critters seem to be in a hurry to finish their meals before their coming changes. The one in the background appears to be trying to pupate already. I do hope they are not too late to become beautiful butterflies.

Oh, these caterpillars have a very nice drawing!
Determines act these caterpillars by an internal clock, and know when it's time to pupate? The motto will be: Before as much as possible to eat!
Best regards,
Heidi

Those are BIG caterpillars -- not little things at all ;>). They are pretty themselves, but I hope they're not too late to turn into even more beautiful butterflies!

I love butterflies, but I hate caterpillars.
Well, what I mean, I like looking at them, the are fascinating but I don't want to get close to one.
Have a wonderful weekend and many regards from Canada
